PSA: Victoria's Secret catalogue/online returns

I'm not sure if this was already shared, but I just learned this:

VS provides a UPS label for returns. They deduct $5.99 from your return for using their label. They "recommend" that you use the UPS label, but don't give any details as to why.

I got a first hand lesson as to why:

I returned something on 12/18 via the US Postal Service and paid $1.50- which included delivery confirmation. I just checked the status online and saw that it was delived on 12/21, but NOT ACCEPTED at the "returns" address. So, I called to find out what was going on.

Well, Victoria's Secret ONLY accepts return packages at 10 am daily. So, if a package isn't delivered AT 10 am, it is sent back to post office and held there until VS goes to pick it up. BUT, they only do that "once every 1 or 2 weeks."

After they pick up the package, they then require "appox 30 days to process the return."

The girl kept saying "that's why we recommend you use the UPS label." Right, well, it's a rip off and NO WHERE does it say WHY they make that recommendation...I'm so annoyed.

I always use UPS when returning and never had an issue. I returned something via USPS once and didn't have an issue either but I find that dropping it a UPS center or Staples is so much more convenient.
