PSA....perfect toddler lunch

Just wanted to share my find.....

no sugar added apple butter &
no sugar added pear butter

We make sandwiches of just the spread or add some sliced banana (ds goes to a nut free school, but it also nicely replaces jelly on a pb&j)

It is soooooo delish. Here's the link:

apple butter

I originally found this at applewood orchards little market store years ago when we went apple picking and now we order straight from the websiteChat Icon

as an added note.....the vidalia onion relish is to. die. for.

Re: PSA....perfect toddler lunch

Is it sweet, but more the consistency of PB?

I think DS would love this

Re: PSA....perfect toddler lunch

It's naturally sweet like apples and pears would be. It's not as thick as peanut butter. It's almost got the consistency of Nutella if you've ever had that

This stuff is awesome. I got it at Applewoods too! We go there a few times a year for the winery (the Vidal is my favorite).

Thanks for the link.

What ingredients are listed on the label of the apple and pear butters?

I can't even look for you as I ran out and just ordered new jars but, I honestly doubt it. It's literally made from apples and pears. It would be a good question for the company though.

Re: PSA....perfect toddler lunch

Thanks! DD is going to a 6 week program this summer at her pre-school and she has to bring lunch. They are nut-free as well and I was wondering what to send her with. Now I know! :)

Thanks for posting! I am desperately trying to get DS to eat new things. It's the same few things over and over and even then he's so picky. He's only 15 months and I'm dreading future meals!

I get it at trader joe's and they also sell it at whole food's. It is nut free. A sunflower seed is not a nut.

Yep, it would work just like PB on a sandwich. I give it to M&J on an English muffin, and they love it.
