pta meetings
What happens in districts where the vast majority of children have 2 working parents? Is there no PTA?
Also, to the PP who had to move her day off- that's awful. It's so hard to juggle everything. You were a lot nicer to those women than I would have been!

Well my whole board are working parents including myself. My husband also works as do the others. We make it work...sometimes we take turns leaving early if the situation needs. Otherwise you are bound to find a few parent volunteers that are SAHM or Dads. Teachers also help out.
I don't really agree with flipping out on those women. They are moms too taking care of their homes, their kids, their own lives and doing this volunteer work...brains scattered. So a mistake happened and a wrong date was announced and then corrected. Mistakes happen...there are usually 100's of students with parents you can't make happy. We have to adjust and change things sometimes too especially when people aren't stepping up up volunteer. They didn't purposely set out to mess up your day.

They messed up, fine. Apologize and call it a day. But they were nasty to her about it. That's unnecessary and cost them a future volunteer.
It's awesome that your PTA includes and considers working parents. It sounds like many don't and that's a shame.
