Pull-String Pinanta Question..
I saw a cute one online, but how exactly does it work?
-Are the kids still blindfolded? -Do they just walk up to it & pull one string & then another kid gets a turn?
It just doesn't seem exciting...Safer, yes, but would kids ages 4-10 enjoy it???

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
Definitely not exciting... the way we did it for Jake's birthday was that the kids all stood in line and took turns pulling a string. When the right string is pulled, the candy falls out so yeah...very boring. But safe.... until all the kids dive for the candy and claw over each other to grab it.
ETA: There's no blindfolding involved...

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
I think I might stick w/ the regular one then. Besides, it might be funny to see the person pulling the pinata get wacked w/ the bat anyway, maybe it will win me some $$$ on America's Funniest Videos. I'm just kidding.

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
You can have each kid pull a string until the right string is pulled. What we did was have all the kids grab a few strings and pull. They had a lot of fun. We chose the string pinata because we had my son's party iin a restaurant and didn't think the owner would appreciate us bringing something to smack the pinata around with

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
The string one is ok. My nephew had one. The first one to walk up and pull a string opened it though So if you do get one, the white string was the one that opened it (not sure if its white on all of them, but it was the one that was different!).

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
We got a pinata for DS's first birthday and it has the string. While it is safer, there is that possibility that the right string might be pulled right away. But once all the Candy comes flying out all the kids are going to be diving for the candy...

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
i too am at a loss with this one. Should we do the string or the real one? I am leaning towards the real one because there are alot of kids and I want them to all get a turn.. Andrea, where did you decide on having the party?

We're having it at a cute church hall by where I grew up. Nothing fancy but it's clean, lots of room for the kids to run around, & affordable. Once I add my special touches it will be great! What are you doing for Alex's b-day twin?...And can you believe they're almost a year???!!!
...I'm totally going with the regular pinata BTW.

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
kids ages 4-10 want a chance at bat that's the way we've always done it. and im doing them less and less, becuase sometimes it can get unfair if one or 2 kids stashes all the goods

What happens if a kid at bat cracks it open before the others have a chance. I know it doesn't happen as much but it can you never know.

Re: Pull-String Pinanta Question..
Whatever happens, happens. The pinata's only $14.99, if the first kid breaks it (which I highly doubt), that just means more time to eat the candy!

I think once they see the candy on the floor they are going to be too busy diving for it.
