Pulling kids out for vacations NOW?
I teach middle school and over the past 2 weeks, SO many parents have pulled kids out of school to go on family vacations. I understand that once summer hits, prices skyrocket, but there are finals and state assessments coming up.
I just got 2 e-mails from 2 separate families letting me know that their children would be out on a family vacation next week and the following 2 days - returning the DAY of my final exam. they are missing the entire review and the review sessions I offer before and after school. I also have to mention that the majority of the kids going on vacation cannot afford to mis the reviews...
Is anyone else dealing with this?

I have kids telling me they are going to miss the regents because they are going on vacation. Hello?? Plan the trip for after the regents!!

One of my students went to Europe for 14 days...he missed the two full weeks of classes leading up to the Regents exam. Luckily he passed but still

Yep! One of my freshman is flying to Palestine THE DAY BEFORE the Regents.
