Pupps
I'm asking for a friend...I am NOT pregnant (I know I have lurkers on here!)
Anyway, did anyone have this while they were PG? Was there anything you used to relieve the itching? She read somewhere that 70% of Pupps sufferers have boys...is this true? I told her I would ask you girls about this since you guys are a wealth of knowledge on just about any topic. TIA!

I have a few bumps. But my cousin had it BAD- she would wake up 3 times a night to take oatmeal baths. She did have a boy- interesting. And I am having a boy, too...

my BF had it when pg w/ her twin boys. It was really bad. She would also take oatmeal baths 4x a day. Nothing really helped. I feel so bad for your friend.

Re: Pupps
I had it bad too! Ironically I did have a boy! It happened the last month of my pregnancy and the dermatologist I went too thought I had scabies! Come to find out, PUPPS and scabies symptoms are the same. So I was using sarna lotion, taking oatmeal bathes and even took Predinisone for a week. I was miserable the last four weeks of my pregnancy and even the first about 2-3 weeks of having my DS. I gave brith on 12/19/06 and it finally went away right after New Years. I hope it never comes back if I get preggo again.

Re: Pupps
I had it really really bad.
To be honest Im not sure if my Dr.'s really knew anything about it because it took me lots of appointmetns and many tears to get them to "diagnose" me and do something about it.
I prob had one of the worse cases none to man kind..
I was on steroids for about a month..
10-60mg/day
and eventually did deliver early because of it...
(since the itching kept me from sleeping, I fell aslepp in an oatmel bath one day- at that point the Dr.'s said time to get this baby out)
There is no relief, since the itching is internal.
But the steroids DEF> helped- but it wasnt until I was on 60mg did I feel some relief.
Other than that I would suggest sarna lotion and grandpa pine tar soap.
HTH- if you have any other questions feel free to FM
ETA- I too had a boy!

Re: Pupps
I had it and so did my SIL. I had a girl and she had twin girls. She wound up delivery early b/c of it-she had a severe case-she was on steroids etc. I was given a cream from the dermatologist which helped alot and I also took a lot of oatmeal baths. Mine went away a few weeks before I delivered and then returned again when DD was a few weeks old.

Re: Pupps
I had it too, but I didn't break out until a few days after I delivered & it lasted about 3 weeks.
The only thing that helped was Aveeno Oatmeal Bath Powder
