puppy is chewing on the deck!

We let Max out in the backyard on the deck so he gets used to used to going outside to do his business.
but i find him chewing on any corner he finds!
Is there anything I can do to get him to stop? Yelling "No!" doesn't seem to be working!

I'm sure others will have better suggestions, but perhaps try "the can"

(ie: putting coins in an empty soda can and taping shut. when you catch him doing something, shake it once and say no. the loud noise usually gets their attention and makes them stop... until you catch him again when you then repeat...they catch on eventually)

I think they also have some kind of bitter/sour sprays, but I never tried those.

A sharp, loud, scary noise is good. But then give him something better to chew like a nylabone.

I tried bitter apple spray, but we haven't had to use it much. They love corners, it's easier to get in their mouths and use their jaws on.

A Kong is great too!

My puppy chewed on the corner of my leaning book shelf. A friend of mine got him new chew toys for him to knaw on and he stopped. Target has awesome thin small chew toys. Rufio will sit for hours and just chew this one light blue rubbery material bone thing....MORE TOYS!
