Puppy Question (Vaccinations)
The vet told me $200 bucks for them!
Someone told me I could get them cheaper. Anyone know?
They mentioned the North Shore Animal League.
HELP!

I think sometimes Petco has something where you can get shots for cheaper. But its not all the time. I have never done this before so I have no idea what they charge, but I heard it was cheaper. I'll check their website and see if I can find anything on it.

I am in Brooklyn and willing to travel. My baby needs these shots and I don't wanna get ripped off. I don't think the vet has much integrity so I just want to get the best for my buck.

Petco! Gizmo just got some boosters last week there. I think the puppy package was like $45. There are reallllly long lines though Waited for 2 hours... so I would recommend getting there early to get to the front of the line.
Did you get a puppy???

They are expensive....
But- do some research... I believe that Vets sell you a gazillion vaccinations, not all of which are necessary...
I know my dog has rabies (requried by law)... and the other one that is really important...
But parvo- and a few others, I really didn't think my dog needed.

no way 200 is way too much.
Keep looking.. You can find a much better price with other vets.
Some vets try to rip you off and I know you want the best for your baby but you also don't want to go broke in the process.

Just do some research- b/c some of these vaccinations such as bordetella (kennel cough) are really for dogs that are going to be boarded a lot, or are show dogs.
Letpo, parvo & corona virus should be on a case-by-case basis.
My dog, because she is small and reallly don't "walk" didn't really NEED all those shots.
Most important was rabies and distemper....
this is how vets make their money- so instead of doing what is right for your dog, they just want you to spend $$$
