Pure barre?

I just started taking pure barre classes. I absolutely love it and I feel like it's kicking my a$$ so I am hopeful that I get results. Has anyone else tried it? Did it work? I am petite but trying to get rid of saddlebags, thin my thighs and lift my rear. I did the new client 5 weeks unlimited but once that expires, this is going to cost me a fortune. Curious to see if anyone had great results with it. Thanks!

Oh great! I'm so glad to hear that you saw results quickly. I go to manhasset. Went to my fourth class today, I'm about as graceful as an elephant but I love it!

Re: Pure barre?

I've been taking barre classes since 2010 and when I take classes regularly (a few times a week), I do see results.

Pure barre?

I have been taking Bar Method classes since Oct of 2013 and have lost 30 lbs already. I take class 5-6 times a week. I'm addicted.

I am 21 classes in and loving it. My arms are much more sculpted than they have ever been, my thighs are more toned than when I started and I am seeing a little improvement in my "seat" which is their word for a$$ :) I have been going three times/week. There is a great vibe in the manhasset studio. For such an expensive and "elite" workout, every one is very friendly and down to earth.

theres a new client special thats $100 for the month. Do you think I'll be able to pay $28 for my 1st class and then take advantage of the new client month pass? I just want to make sure I dont hate it Chat Icon

Most places will let you try a class for free before you invest - you should ask!

I think right now its 2 classes for $28 and yes I THINK You can take advantage of both. I know you can do the 1 month new client pass and combine it with the baby bounce back which I plan on doing - if I make it though the month and still love it!

I live a couple of minutes away which makes it super convenient and I agree that the vibe is pretty chill!!!

I have about 25 pounds I want to lose-- just wondering if this helped with weight loss or mostly just toning.

They let me take the first class and then decide if I wanted to purchase a package or just pay for the class. But you do have to register for the class online! The Saturday ones are almost always sold out day of fyi.

Honestly I haven't lost any weight but I haven't been trying to so I can't speak to that angle. I wouldn't mind losing 5 pounds but I went primarily to tone.

Awesome! I weigh a lot more than I look. I want to tone since losing weight isn't difficult for me once I stop eating out every meal Chat Icon

I will go in person and sign up. I'll probably do an early morning class, perhaps tomorrow. Unlimited month = 2x a day??

There's also Barre Method in Roslyn. I actually started going there instead of Pure Barre in Manhasset bc they have 4:00 classes during the week.

Pure barre?

Just wondering do you sweat a lot for the workouts? I would take a morning class before work but do you work up a sweat and need to shower after?

def dont need a shower after. its a hard- CORE work out. You dont sweat, if you do its not a lot.

$260 a month is way more than I can afford, so I will try the barre method as a new client once my month is up at pure barre- then hopefully the weather will be warm enough to start biking.

I leave my bar method classes soaked with sweat. The studio I go to has showers so you could clean up after class.

I do Bar Method too (in CT) and it's also $175/month. I love it! Most people I know who have tried Bar Method and Pure Barre like Bar Method better. They feel the teachers are way better trained.

I was plnning on signing up for the post baby 3 month package at Purre Barre after my initial 5 weeks are up - 3 months 400-- which is more reasonable.. after that I think im done.. but I may have to check out Barre Method if its cheaper.. still may be too rich for my blood though , I am sorta addicted to Pure Barre--and its a 3 minute drive from my house which is AWESOME!

Re: Pure barre?

i love it but i only went twice since I signed up. its a 5 min drive from me but I stay in Astoria a few days a week so its not like I can go every day. i'll just stretch like a rubber band, plank and ride my bike ( 12 miles minimum a day). its way too expensive for me, especialy since I can really only go 2-3 times a week. classes were also canceled due to snow yesterday Chat Icon
