put off selling due to market change
Has anynone put off plans to sell for a future date due to the market?
I originally thought I'd only be in this house for 5 years...but now, who knows. I don't want to end up losing my shirt.

We unsuccessfully tried to sell our house this year, and just took it off the market. We were consistently getting at least an appointment most weekends, but once the news on the economy hit all interest seemed to dry up. We said enough was enough and will revisit selling in the future, when the market improves for sellers.

If you are planning to trade up you should absolutely consider selling now. the money you will save on the house you buy will most likely be greater than the money you lose on your current house. If you are looking to trade down though, now's not the time!

yes, well we are on the 5 yr plan too. We bought in 2007. Good thing is that we put alot down so we do have equity. I hope that we can make some moeny we have 3.5 more yrs left on our 5 yr plan. Hoping that the market comes up a little by then. We are just trying to appreciate the fact that we have a house that we can afford right now. We are making improvements too we put a ton of sweat equity and have turned this place completly around Its not our forever home by any strecth but We may stay a few more yrs then planned. It sucks but what can you do....
