ok i just read it
group wasn't ambushed, she didn't go down fighting - her gun jammed. They were in an auto accident (her humvee crashed into the one ahead of her) and they were taken captive.

That story was out a long time ago. She had said it herself, her gun had jammed and she was taken captive. As far as sexual abuse. There are no doubts it happened. But we can understand as women why it was not talked about publicly. Who would want the whole word to know you had been raped? She was probably traumatized enough.
That story reminded me of that female Helicopter pilot in Kuwait during the Golf War. The helicopter crashed, she was injured, they took her too. No words on her being sexually abused either. Although you could understand from some of her comments that it had happened.
War is not pretty on men... but it's definitvelly not pretty on women either.

A female friend fo mine joined the army 3 years ago. She just finished her final tour in Iraq and is in Germany now.
She told me she was recruited based on lies.
An attorney in my office joined JAG after 9/11 thinking he would be serving as an attorney. He was sent to Iraq, given a gun and told to fight when fired upon. No lawyer work for him.
I believe that we only get about 10% of truth of what is really going on.
I don't need to know if a solider was sexually abused when captured. Just say tortured or abused. It doesn't matter if it was sexual or not. ANd come on, who actually plays by the "Rules of War." We certainly don't. How can we expect others to.
But lying about how it happened is wrong. But then again, so much of what goes on in our government is wrong. Look at how the PResident's cabinet is going down. I wish we could shift the focus to who can get the work done with integrity and not the sensationalization of sex scandals, feuds, etc.... Wasn't more $ spent on the Clinton impeachment for sexual impropriety than the 9/11 commission 
Personally, I prefer my tax dollars to go to studying our being attacked and learning how to prevent it than finding out who gave the president a b.j. in the oval office- but that's just me.
