Q about swim lessons and infants
For those who had DC took swim lessons when they were a few months old.
Did you take lessons in the winter? How young were they? Was the water warm enough?
The reason I am asking, DS is 4 months. He likes his bath but he gets cold easily.
Is that too young?
I am also a germophobe, would I be exposing him to germs in the water? Let's face it, everybody sense of hygiene is not the same. Especially with the Staph scare going on.

Re: Q about swim lessons and infants
Yes, my kids take lessons year round. 2 months when the boys started The water at Saf T Swim is PLENTY warm and so is the air in the pool room. Just make sure they are bundled up in the changing area.
As for the germs the water has so many chemicals in it that it kills most of the germs. They test the water frequently so they are sure it's where it should be. The dept of health also does inspections. If you are worried about that give the health dept a call.

The Safety Swim program has warm water, but some other places don't, such as Eisenhower Park and Freeport Rec. Just bring a hair dryer and a nice warm outfit for after. We did the winter moonths. My son was about 9 months the first time.

I agree. I took classes in the winter when DD was 2-3 months old and it was fine. The water and pool area are warm, and I just bundled her in a towel and got her dressed quickly in the changing area
