Q for working moms that workout - mini vent then questions (long)
So now is 6 months PP. I lost all the baby weight right away with 2 weeks then an additional 5-10 Lbs. So I should be "smaller", right? Wrong!!!! My belly "flap" is still there. I can't get rid of it. Even when I pull my abs in, it's still there. It's just the skin. I asked my ob/gyn when I was just a few weeks PP and she said that it was possible it would never go down, that the skin had stretched too much. I don't even have stretch marks. So, I don't get it. Even "lighter", I am wearing one size bigger than pre-PG due to the belly.
Now... the boobs. I am now down to BFing DS for a few minutes 2 times per day, my supply is decreased and for the first time this week, my bra (40DD) feels a bit bigger. The boobs are totally sagging. That's probably the worst part for me. Even "at my age", my breasts were on the larger size but still VERY up and not sagging at all. I am totally depressed.
So... I guess I could do "some" workout to try to shape the rest of the body and find myself some new "best features".
Now to the point, if you are a working mom and you have an infant (DS is 6 months) how do you find time AND energy to workout? How do you do it? Do you go to the gym? Do you leave DS to DH?

My DD w/b 6 months next week & due to DH's work sked & his mom watching baby I wasn't able to go to the gym, although I would have liked to.
DH's sked just changed for the next 3 mo. & so now I'll have the chance to get to the gym after work (at least 2x a wk) while he has baby. I teach though so hopefully I'll have the energy at 3 to go...I HAVE to get back into shape...I too still have that little belly pooch & not liking it at all.
When it gets nice out I plan on doing a lot of walks w/ DD or rollerblading like I used to.

Re: Q for working moms that workout - mini vent then questions (long)
I haven't been (Unless you count picking up a 23 lb baby as a workout.)
Starting next week, I want to start doing my yoga videos again. I am going to start small and try for 3 times a week. My body feels very tight since I haven't been doing it and at this point I just want to start with feeling better. (After that, I need to start working on my eating habits.) (I am still nursing at least 9 times a day. On days I work, 3 of those times are pumping.)

I joined a gym last month that has child care, now I just have to get dd comfortable enough there where I can workout without her having meltdowns.

My butt and hips, which really didn't need to get any wider in the 1st place, totally expanded after having Cailen - its really frustrating...
how do I find the time? Just barely - I go to kickboxing 3-4 times a week when DH comes home (2 weekdays, Saturday and/or Sunday) How do I find the energy? I have no energy. I force myself. Sometimes I feel like I'm falling asleep on the drive over...

We have a gym in our apt building so I really have no excuse - yet have I gone in the last 2 days? nope. It's really hard trying to balance everything.
DD was clingy today so I was holding her all day (I'm still on winter break). I didnt get to jog on the treadmill tonight but DD provides a nice arm workout.

Re: Q for working moms that workout - mini vent then questions (long)
I have been wondering the same thing. I lost my baby weight and then some within two weeks pp but somehow weight has crept back on. I tried getting back into a workout schedule in the fall but between work, grad school and baby, it was tough. I am trying again now and I hope it will stick. I have a closet filled with clothes and am only wearing a few things. I want to wear my pretty cute clothes again and feel energetic again.
As far as schedule suggestions, not sure if you need to go to a gym or if you will exercise at home, but I usually put DD to bed and then do a workout video. In fact I did one tonight.

Re: Q for working moms that workout - mini vent then questions (long)
I could have written this myself. I have lost all the weight however there is still some skin there on my stomach. I hate it.My stomach shrinks when i work out and then when I dont it gets bigger again. I did join a gym and try to go 2-3 times per week.
Also i understand how u feel about the boob thing. My boobs were always perky and now they sag. I BF'ed for 6 months and this is the reward I get. Oh well I guess the reward that my son got the best possible nutrition is even better. I guess this is the price we pay for motherhood.

OMG me too. I lost the baby weight (well 6 lbs to go) BUT I have the "meatloaf" bit at my stomach, which kills me b/c I always had a flat stomach. My legs, and butt are smaller, but my hips & waist are *blech.* I'll admit I am not great at working out, but I have been trying to bind my stomach at night (now that I am not BFing). I am not sure it is working, but I'll try anything to tighten this skin back up

Re: Q for working moms that workout - mini vent then questions (long)
wish i could more but i've had a treadmill at home for close to 10 years which finally gave out right before Christmas (horrible timing). I plan on replacing it with a new one soon and get back on. I had started using it after i got the ok post c-section but nothing is happening?
i'm giving my body/hormones another week or so before i call my doctor because i'm losing my mind.
