Q: Short sale / Foreclosure
Where do you find listings? I did a google search but it seems like you have to register for these sites listing them and that just doesn't make sense to me.

Ask your realtor to show you some. Ours knew of all the short sales and some foreclosures in the area.
We happened to find ours that was listed like a normal listing but when we went to go see it the price dropped drastically and my REA found out it went into foreclosure.

Realtor. We visited one yesterday that was not listed on MLSLI. AND right under the listing on Zillow was a property that was foreclosed and sold for 1K--it was worth 379K

I would bet that is a mistake
no bank is going to let a house go for $1K
by the time a house gets to foreclosure- a bank has spent $100K at least in fees, not to mention the loan amount they are out

Before we put the offer on the home we are buying, we were working with a realtor who works specifically with foreclosures. He would always keep us updated on what was about to become available via foreclosure from his company, but he also was able to get us into anything we wanted to see from mls..... if I wanted to see something, and I emailed/called him in the morning, he always did his best to get us into the house that same day. You can fm me if you want his info.... he was great.

I am going to run a title search on it at work tomorrow and see what it really says- that house doesn't look half as bad as some of them I have seen
I think it's a mistake- it has -- for the beds and baths- maybe it's the driveway

I'm not sure how often this realtytrac is updated- or how accurate it is. Yesterday after reading this post I joined the 7 day "free trial" and saw a property in Malba I would have scooped up in a heartbeat. It said it was in pre forclosure.
After driving by I knew which property it was, it was for sale a year ago and someone bought it,knocked down the old structure and is almost complete with the new house. How do they explain that?
