Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
GC - you want to be in the GC sd. There are many different areas of GC based on budget.
Westbury - I don't know what you are looking for here, can't really say unless we know your price range. There are many different areas of Westbury and they vary based on prices.

Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
Garden City is good, though as pp mentioned, you want to be in the GC school district. I don't know as much about Westbury--there is a nice main street area, that's about it.
We liked Garden City, but it was a little high for us, and we also thought the area was too congested. Otherwise, it's a nice town.

Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
I live in Westbury but I am in the East Meadow school district - the area is called Salisbury. There are also some areas of Westbury that are in Carle Place schools. I would avoid the Westbury school district.

Well let's see...I would personally prefer the GC district. But you have to see, with your budget you may only be able to get a busy road/not so great location, or a house that needs a lot of work. You will have to go to the open houses, then you FM me the areas/streets and I can let you know any details about them since I know GC pretty well.

Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
I grew up in garden city and know the town very well - you can feel free to FM me with any questions you might have. Garden City school district is excellent. You can definitely find houses in garden city in the range you posted above. If you commute to the city there are so many train stations to chose from.

Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
These are 2 very different areas. GC is one of the best areas and school districts on LI. The westbury school district has some areas that are less desirable.

The only district you want to be in is Salisbury area of Westbury (but your budget is a bit higher than most homes there) area with East Meadow schools, so EM SD only.
Are you asking about Old Westbury, not so much Westbury?

Re: Qs on Westbury/Garden City
Old Westbury is predominantly mansions with the cheapest priced house in OW at $1.2M. Its just north of westbury village.
Westbury is divided up into many sections. There's salisbury (which is most desireable and in east meadow SD), westbury with carle place schools (which would be the next desireable), and then there's Westbury school district which is comprised of west village, east village, poets corner, breezy hill, and sherwood gardens. also part of westbury school district is a very small area known as new cassel (aka - prospect). YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE., especially when you're looking in the $600k range.
some other suggestions...look into Jericho, Syosset, Plainview -- but just remember these towns have some $$ taxes.
