Quebec City

My husband and I are thinking of going with our kids (4 and 8). We've read a lot of reviews that say its very kid friendly. If you have been there with kids, can you give us the run down of MUST DO and any hotels you d recommend.

i have an itinerary for montreal if you want it. no kids, but we dont go out to bars anyway so it might be helpful

I went there as a kid - we stayed in that big hotel with the green roof that's been there forever and is like their famous landmark. That was cool.

I was like eleven/twelve. It was wonderful - like a mini France! There was a lot to do and see - waterfalls nearby, I recall well. The church we toured was beautiful. We did a bus tour, saw the changing of the guards - I remember a lot!

That trip was fond, fond memories for me -- it was me, my parents, and my grandparents and it was about a year or so before my beloved grandmother passed away so I was blessed to have those memories. She was one of a kind, that's for sure, truly special.

The food was great in Quebec - the people were great. I really loved it there. I have always wanted to go back but man is it a drive. If I ever go back and I cannot fly, I'd take Amtrak! Scenic and calm!

We did stop on the way up and stayed for two nights in Bar Harbor, Maine. WHAT A GORGEOUS PLACE!!!!! It's a great stop-over that breaks up the trip and I'd recommend it, honestly. Look into it -- that was awesome.

Both places are def great for kids. I was young and it's been so long -- if I were you, consult trip advisor and whenever I have done that, I've had great results.
