Question about all these 'recommended' blood tests...
I did do they 12 week ultrascreen. All the numbers came back fine but now I keep hearing from friends & doctors about these other blood tests. Both you can take around 16 weeks.
1) is the AFP Quad Screen
2) another is a modified sequential
What are these? Do people take these...I am so confused!!!

Odds are you will get the AFP-quad screen. It will only help solidify the results of your ultrascreen (12 weeks). Mine got better with the quad screen and made me feel more confident about the results.

Re: Question about all these 'recommended' blood tests...
Not all Drs. automatically do the Quad Screen. They will do the AFP portion, but I believe they will do the Quad Screen only based on your results from the ultrascreen. I know they get a report after the ultrascreen and that report will let the Dr. know if it's recommended if you have the Quad done with the AFP.
At least that is what my Dr. had explained to me when I had it done.
ETA: The AFP screens for Spina Bifida and Nuerual Tube Deficency which can't be detected with the ultrascreen sono.

Re: Question about all these 'recommended' blood tests...
They are all optional exams...... I didn't have any of them. the only "test" I had during my pregnancy was the level II sono and GD test (which is done differently by my midwife, I didn't drink tha nast sugar drink)
