question about Betas
What's the difference btwn the qualitative beta and quantitative beta? I'm having my first tonight and I want to make sure they do the right one!!

Qualititatve is just a test to see if you are pregnant (if there is HCG in your blood).
Quantitative measures how much HcG is actually in your blood. By take Quantitative bloodwork every 48 hours, they can monitor the health of your pregnancy.

ooooo do they automatically do the quantitative then? i know im pregnant, the sticks told me so!

Not really... Usually they just do a qualitative to confirm that you are pregnant.
I had quantitative betas in the beginning because I was having spotting and it was too early for the sonogram to answer all the questions... But I think they usually only do a qualitative unless there is a problem to check on or unless you are at a RE (specialist for fertility issues).
