Question about breastfeeding/pumping/bottles...
I plan on breastfeeding, and my SIL lent me her Medela PIS pump (bought new parts). My thing is I have been hesitant to buy the bottles that go with the pump, b/c I have the Playtex drop ins, and afraid DS (when he's here) will get used to the Medela nipple/bottle and not use the playtex ones.
My question is this, I have some of the Medela Breastmilk storage bags. Can I pump into those and then just transfer it into the Playtex bottles??
TIA!!

You could pump into whatever you'd like and transfer it into any kinds of bottles you'd like. I always pumped into the 9 ounce avent bottles and then poured it into the playtex ventaires.

I would get the bottles that go with the pump, then pour the milk from the bottle into whatever you want to feed the baby from.
The bottles that go with the pump screw on to the parts so you won't spill- I think pumping directly into the bag will be too messy.

Re: Question about breastfeeding/pumping/bottles...
I have a Pump in Style also, but I've never heard of using it to pump straight into a bag. I've only ever pumped into the bottles it came with. You don't necessarily have to feed from the bottle you pumped into or stored the milk in. You can transfer it into whatever bottle or cup your child takes.

I use the bottles and bags. The bags are designed to attach onto the pump. They work great. I use the medela bottles and transfer them into Avent bottles. i use the bags for freeezer storage.

I never used their bottles. I pumped and stored it into Lanisoh bags. I tried every brand of bags and I liked them best.

Re: Question about breastfeeding/pumping/bottles...
i would pump into the bottles that come with the pump and then transfer it. There are generic 4 oz bottles that will fit most pumps out there on the internet. I bought six more of those b/c I froze the breastmilk right in those bottles or ice cube trays that had lids on them. I found that easier then the bags.
Here is the link to the generic bottles for the pump. I just bought the six bottles.
