Question about Bway tix
I really want to get tix to a bway show for this fall to surprise DH, but I worry about the what-ifs - like what if DH doesn't like the show, what if something comes up, etc.
Also, if I do get the tix, is the second row a good thing or a possibly not so good thing? I know front row is supposed to be amazing but I was thinking that being so close doesn't allow you to get a great view of the entire stage. But I've never sat that close - usually sit about half way back.
What say you?

Re: Question about Bway tix
I perfer sitting towards the middle..too close takes away from "the magic" imo.. i would try and tell him that on that date u guys r invited to such and such so he doesnt make other plans..
as far as the shows...what is he into? maybe we can help u pick a good one...wicked is amazing for all audiences, and avenue q is awesome and funny and raunchy lol...i went with guys to both of these shows and they loved it..
i saw little mermaid, and beauty and the beast and liked both but not sure if a guy would..

If something unexpected & unavoidable comes up you can always resell the tickets.
Usually front mezzanine gives you the best view of the whole production.

Re: Question about Bway tix
Some shows have insurance if something comes up. I know my Fh did that once.
I've sat in ALL different places. it really depends on the venue and the way the show is stages. I've seen shows in smaller venues where the first few rows were spectacular, but for something with a huge set it might be hard to see the entire effect especially if it's a musical with a lot of dancing.

we've seen Aida and Rent and he liked both. We also saw Avenue Q and O in Vegas and loved them. I realllllly have been dying to see The Little Mermaid but what if he doesn't like it - we haven't seen any disney shows. I hear the prodiction is great and we really haven't been to any shows recently.
Also I'd like to surprise him w/ the tix as part of our 1st ann'y present (since its the "paper" ann'y).

I have heard great things about wicked. Have no idea if he likes disney movies, but he's never mentioned it at all so maybe no? I figured that as a show it would be better - being live and all.

Yes anyshow is def cool b/c it is live..i think u hafta go with ur gut, b/c u never know if u will like a show based on someone else, it is all relative...have u considered getting sporting event tix or maybe a concert for the paper route--if u r nervous about picking a show>?

B'way theatres are very small, you may lose some stage view if you sit too far to the side, but being close you see it all. Like I think Wicked has that "obstructed view" problem if you sit too far on the side. I saw Wedding Singer from 3rd row, I saw Grease from 5th row, I saw Spamalot from 5th row and I saw Young Frankenstein from 12th row and all were amazing!
