question about clothing sizes
Dd is 19m. She will be 2 on dec. 9th
She is 25lbs and about 33in. She can fit into size 18m but I bought all of her summer clothes in 24m or 2T because I wanted her to get the whole suummer out of them. They are all a lil big on her right now
I want to start picking up some fall/winter clothes but unsure what size to get. Are kids normally in 2T for a while? Would you buy 3T even if the 2Ts are a lil big now? So confused. When do you move to 3T? TIA

Re: question about clothing sizes
My dd is 23 months and weighs 25lbs and 34 inches and can only wear 24 months pants if they have the pull tabs inside of them. She still needs 18 months on the waist. For fall I got her her 24 months sized pants and 2t tops. I 3t would be huge on my dd who is similar height and weight to your dd.

Re: question about clothing sizes
DD is 2.5 and still wearing 24 months. I stopped buying her clothes in advance because I always bought too big. She's been wearing 24 months for almost a year (although they were too big when she started with them). She finally wears 2T and is about the size of your DD. I wouldn't buy too much in advance, and definitely not 3T

Re: question about clothing sizes
I buy staple type clothing ahead of season that can go with everything so even if it is big early in the season it should fit later on. Once my children were about 11 months they started to wear clothing for much longer time frames. I would get some in 2t and some in 3t. FWIW, my kids generally need one size up in shirts from their pants for arm length for a while. DS will be 5 soon and he wears size 5 pants/shorts and 5 or 6 in shirts. For the fall I got him 6 shirts and pants. DD is almost 3 and she wears 3T for both, but for the fall I got her both 3T and 4T shirts and 3T pants. She wore size 2T for a long time (11 months to 2 1/2).

Re: question about clothing sizes
I was in your EXACT same position and now I have a ton of 3T clothes(pants/skirts) for fall and I have no doubt they will fall off of her. I say if you want to buy some 3T buy shirts and dresses only. I learned my lesson this past year and I will not be buying so far in advance. My DD can wear 3T right now, but when she is potty trained and out of her cloth diaper she will wear a 24 months or 2T. I also find sizing to be hard. In ON she is in a 2T maybe a 3T but in Carters a 24m just hangs off of her.
So to summarize: buy 3T tops, dresses and maybe leggings, but that's it.
