Re: Question about colds
I thought they dont recommend any cough medicine till they are 2. When my boys had cold, I would just try to make them more comfortable. I know putting a cold mist humidifier in their room helped a lot.

Re: Question about colds
My ped won't give any cold meds to kids under the age of 5-6 and now the FDA is thinking of banning cold meds for kids under 6 too.
Check with your PED, but he did okay bendryl for the congestion, elevate crib mattress and used a cool mist humidifier.
We also use baby vicks and j&j vapor bath to loosen up the congestion.
hope she feels better soon!

Re: Question about colds
The cool mist humidifier is your best bet. Run that thing all day & night.
I would do Vicks - partificularly if she's not eating. It will help her enough to get some nutrients in her.
I hate, hate, hate when they're sick.

Re: Question about colds
In addition to what everyone else suggested, if her nose becomes stuffy use saline solution to help loosen mucous and then aspirate her nose. They usually don't like that but they while breathe much better.
Sitting in the bathroom with hot shower running also helps loosen mucous. Also not bad for mommy's skin.

I hope she is feeling better soon. We use these vapor plug-ins at night when Ryan is sick. Image Attachment(s):
