Question about Crib Bumpers
DD is almost 7 weeks and has been sleeping in her crib for the last week. She is swaddled and also I have a sleep positioner in the crib. This morning when I went in to get her, she had wiggled her way to the end of the crib. Her head was nowhere near the bumper-but now I'm nervous that she can move that much while swaddled!
What do you all do? Bumper or no bumper? What if I take it off and she hits her head on the soft spot. Or I leave it on and she gets her face too close to it. I need help!!!

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
DD is 7 months and crawling and wiggling and moving as much as she possibly can . . . especially to get her face squished against the crib. No bumpers.

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
All 3 of my babies had crib bumpers... in fact, my 10 month old still has hers.
If you are nervous, get the breathable ones!
congrats on your baby!

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
My DD still has her bumpers in. She is 6 months old. She doesn't move a lot in her sleep though...

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
Mu DS is 9 months and I never used crib bumpers in his crib. Not only are crib bumpers a risk for SIDS but as they get older they could use them as leverage to climb out of the crib. Actually I was just at my DS's 9 month appointment and the doctor said to make sure all bumpers were out of the crib because of this.

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
I have used the breathable bumpers for my DS since we brought him home and they work great. They protect his head but are very lightweight and also now that he is 15 months old and a MONKEY he can't use them to climb out. They squish down to nothing when he tries. They're the perfect solution in my opinion.

Re: Question about Crib Bumpers
DS never had any bumpers, and DD has the breathable ones. They can't possibly hit their own head that hard to cause any damage. They can, however, suffocate in or use the soft bumpers to climb out of the crib and fall on their head.
