Question about dog food?

I have a 4 month old puppy. I decided to change her food, and she is now eating Wellness dog food. On the bag it says that it's best to feed your dog some wet food mixed with dry food. Now, I was told to not feed the dog any wet food, since it is bad for them. I'm going to the vet next week, but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks!

Re: Question about dog food?

My dog is a little over 5 months and we feed him dry food with very little (about one tablespoon per 1 1/2 cup dry food) wet food.

Re: Question about dog food?

If they are eating the dry food, no need to add anything to it. If the puppy is not eating, then I would suggest adding a little wet food or even just water to make the dry food a little moist.

I got my Puppy at 9-weeks and never fed her wet food from day 1.

Re: Question about dog food?

All dry is better in regards to their teeth. If the dog won't eat the dry food alone, a little wet food mixed in may get him to eat it. Otherwise, dry food only helps to keep the teeth clean since the dog has to chew it.

She is eating her food fine, so I won't add any wet food. Thanks for the info!!

Re: Question about dog food?

We never gave Kasey wet food, we got her when she was about 3-4 months old. In the beginning we would add a little water to her dry food to help her, then after a while we stopped.

Re: Question about dog food?

Since we got Brody in January 07,at 8 weeks old, he has been on dry food. Sometimes we use Iams Savory Sauce to spruce it up a ittle, or throw in a scrambled egg, or rice, but he is fine on dry only.

Re: Question about dog food?

Arnie only gets dry food. Our vet told us it was better for his teeth and he hasn't given us any problems with eating.
