Question about family vacations

Hi,
I'm starting to think about a little summer getaway for my husband and I, our twin 1 year olds and my inlaws. So I guess we would need a room that has 2 bedrooms.

Does anyone have suggestions on affordable places that are by a beach or have a pool in Long Island, NJ, CT, VT that would be nice to go to?

Re: Question about family vacations

Def Newport, Rhode island

Tons of stuff to do, you can either go the hotel route or inn. There's a diversity of price ranges and amenities with both.
Tons to do, lots of beach, shopping, restaurants. I love it there! Dh and I used to take day trips there.

A close second would be Mystic and Mystic Seaport/Mystic Acquarium in CT.

ETA: We've also been many time to Long Beach Island on the Jersey shore. It's become very family oriented now, stunk for us though, last time we were there i was 21.

Re: Question about family vacations

Try to book a timeshare type unit. That way you have two bedrooms, a common living room and a kitchen.
