Question about Formula (Update)

Help please. I only BF my kids but Damien is having his adenoids and tonsils out on the 15th. He has his presurgical testing tomorrow and I really do not want to bring Jaidyn to the hospital. I can't find my pump from Damien and I really don't want to go out and buy a new one (I rarely used it) I have a few free samples of formula so I figured I would try a bottle of formula today to see how she does and then I can leave her with my Mom. I shouldn't be gone more than two hours. So my question (sorry so long) is how many ounces should I give her? She'll be 8 weeks on Thursday. TIAChat Icon

UPDATE:

Well I gave her a 4 oz bottle and she drank 2 1/2 ozs. It was so funny to watch her face, not the biggest fan at first.Chat Icon

She ended up going 2 1/2 hours till I had to BF her again. Chat Icon She never goes that long. So it filled her up so hopefully my Mom will only have to give her one bottle tomorrow. Thanks everyone.Chat Icon

Re: Question about Formula

I think at 8 weeks Bella was drinking 4oz or less. I believe I would make her a 4oz bottle and what ever she drank she drank.

Good luck with all you have to do!

Re: Question about Formula

Can you buy a cheap hand pump? My hospital gave them out for free (after my birth of course) but my friends absolutely love them and say they get a ton of milk in no time.

I would say probably give her 2-3 oz if you use the formula? I'm sure she'll stop when she's had enough.

Hannah is at 5 oz every 3 hours at 5 weeks (I think that's a bit on the high side!)
