question about greenlawn/harborfields SD

We just started looking at homes in the Harborfields SD.

What are considered nice areas in Greenlawn? Are there any not so nice areas?

Specifically how is the neighborhood behind the Harborfields public library?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

question about greenlawn/harborfields SD

I live in the Robin Park section of HFSD. My boarder (southern part of the discrict) is a little ruff imo as its a cross between Elwood, Huntington South and Harborfields. Behind the library I really can't see there being a problem but then again, i've only live here for about 8 months.

Where is the Robin Park section?

Do you think any area north of the train station is nice?

North never an issue! If you mean South, it depends.

Yeah I mean to ask if any area North of the train station was NOT nice. But it seems like north of the train you can't go wrong. THank you!!

There are a few areas South of Pulaski that have really nice neighborhoods, but it varies moreso.

The neighborhood is fine but just be aware that there have been talks about the school selling the property (park) behind the library. They're hoping the town of Hunt will buy it as part if the "open space" act.

I heard this was pulled (selling it) because of some technicality or something. I hope it remains a park but others say, its a place for teens to hang out.

As for Robin Park, its located between Broadway and Park, south of Little Plains Road. Robin Park section is great, imo it just neighbors a ruffer, more diverse group.

There are a couple of homes for sale in the are. North of the tracks I believe is great, shouldn't be anything bad there.

It really depends on your price. Harborfields goes all the way to 25A as well. Just check the cut-off's up there cause some go to Huntington

It was my understanding that they just decided to hold off on selling to a realtor for now?

???

I don't believe any of the Greenlawn residents who are north of Pulaski attend Huntington HS.

North of Pulaski but west of Park is also Huntington.

North of 25A. We went to a pre-school off 25a on Washington Dr, (next to elementary school). The line north of 25a is weird. More of Huntington Bay goes to Huntington. My sister is also off 25a. Of cause, Finley middle school is off 25a as well which is Huntington but that is more west.

edit - read wrong street.

Must of read the article. I had heard that from another parent in the district. DD loves going there after the library.

Yes, my children attend(ed) Noah's Ark. Chat Icon I'm also a HF resident that lives in Huntington. If the zip is Greenlawn and it's north of Pulaski, I'm pretty postivie they're HF.

Greenlawn does not go north of 25A. It then turns into Centerport or Huntington to the west (Fleets Cove Rd area.)

Can't really go wrong north of the train tracks.

I know people who are behind the library - and they love their neighborhood.

That's considered Huntington, not Greenlawn.

Thank you for all of your responses. If they sell that park will it definitely be to build homes or that is unknown?

Correct, i was referring to the district and not so much "Greenlawn" - i misunderstood the point.

I live in what's considered North Greenlawn (north of tracks and village) and love the area.
