Question About Installing The Base Of a Graco Infant Car Seat
I am having my baby in October. I just got my Graco Infant Car Seat and my DH got a base as well for his car. Are these as complicated to install as lets say the Britax Roundabout that we will be using when our DC grows out of it?
Would you reommend getting the infant base checked for safety or is it simple and not worth the check?
Thanks

Re: Question About Installing The Base Of a Graco Infant Car Seat
I had my car seat installed by my local police department, just to be on the safe side. They did it for free. I think the fire department will do it for free as well.

Re: Question About Installing The Base Of a Graco Infant Car Seat
To be honest I would have it inspected. My BIL who is a a cop installed ours for us and both were 100% wrong. Also the seatbeat installation was different for my SUV and my DH's car. It is a free service and it doesnt take long. Not sure where you are located but Hassell Auto Body in Babylon on Rt 109 does it M-F 8:30-4 and you dont need an appt. Also Good Sam does it but you need to make an appt. Not all firehouses or PD do it so call first. HTH

Which one do you have, is it silver? Mine was silver and it was hard the first time but once we went to have it checked she showed us the correct way and its SUPER easy now to do. Definatly have it checked.. they said they always see people thinking they have correct and its not.

Not sure where you live so here is the general NY listing:

If you are in Nassau - this guy is very popular and is known as safety Chris - he has installed a lot of the mommies car seats. Honestly it never hurts to get them checked. I think something like 80-90% are not correctly installed. They are done by appt but it only takes like 5 mins or less and you know that it is in right.

I would absolutely have it inspected. Even if you think you installed it correctly, you may have done something wrong. It's better to be safe than sorry.
