question about IVF
I have mixed feelings about going the IVF route...
1) So many medications, needles, procedures
2) pretty expensive
3) the unkown if it will be successful
Has anyone ever been completely against it....I have to say I was until it might be our only option......
I just don't know if I am ready to go through this.
Anyone else ever feel this way too?

Re: question about IVF
I was against it when we started IF treatments. Not for any other reason then I was terrified at all that went into IVF. As soon as my last IUI failed I was very anxious to start aside from all my fears of the medications, needles, the procedure itself.
My desire to have a baby far outweighed what I felt about IVF at the time

Re: question about IVF
I wasn't 100% ready after a ton of failed IUI's either...but I took a little time off and then jumped in. If you need to take a break and weigh your options beforehand, by all means do so. IVF is a big investment - emotionally, physically and financially...If you are in some way not ready, then wait. I think it's better to be fully on board than hesitant.

Re: question about IVF
I was dead against IVF and all fertility treatments for that matter before I faced IF issues. I swore I would never do IVF but after repeated failures with IUI and 2 chemical pregnancies I couldn't take the disappointment any longer. All of your concerns are very normal. You will know in your heart when you are ready for IVF. Something will just click inside you and you will feel strongly that there is no other option.

Re: question about IVF
i never thought i would have to go through IVF and said i could never and would never go through it. but when DH was diagnosed with cancer back in nov and had to under go chemo and found out we wouldnt be able to have kids on our own i was all for IVF. we want kids in the worst way and will do whatever we have to do have them even if its injecting myself and paying crazy money to get that. again i never ever wanted to have to do this but this will give us the child that we always wanted.

Re: question about IVF
IVF was basically our last resort. We paid out of pocket and i didn't have another 12K to spend so it was this or wait another year or so. Both of us did not want to do IVF because I would get pregnant easily but then have loss after loss. We finally found out after 3 yrs that my losses were tubal and my chances of a natural, fuill term pregnancy were very low. In the 5% range.
Once I cycled I only had 6 embies that made it to day 3. The Dr who did my transfer said we had a 60% chance with my quality of embies. We implanted 2 and I am almost 21 weeks with twin boys. Supposedly in a natural cycle you only have a 25% chance of getting pregnant every time with NO issues so those odds greatly increased for me
ETA: The injections and all that are a distant memory and were not bad for me at all.
