Technically, that would mean you're using company resources (computer, network, etc) for personal reasons, which may be against company policy... I don't think it's illegal, since it is their equipment.

no anything that crosses their network is their property. They have every legal right to track you.
There is no privacy law at work - - this includes your purse.

I agree but you also shouldn't be too woried about your passwords. They probably won't investigate you unless there was some suspicion of wrong-doing.
Also, I doubt that the people who work in the Integrity department (or whatever your office calls it) would abuse their power & access your credit card accounts or other sites. At least, this is what I hope

Re: Question about Key Logging at work...
Sad, but true. My works tracks everything you do on the computer... I had a sono picture of my son when I was working back then and I was emailing it to a friend when 2 seconds later the HR director was in my office telling me it wasn't appropriate material for the office computer.... And there was another time I was handed a printed log of all the time I was on LiW. It was blocked after that and I learned my lesson not to use the internet at work unless it was work-related!

PSA Spinoff -
At kiosks, pay internet places, public computers, etc don't visit sites or put in usernames or passwords that you don't want everyone to know. Anyone can easily install a keystroke logger on these computers without anyone noticing, as they have inline hardware devices that attach via the keyboard so you dont need rights to install the software. Someone from the outside can install the logger, the employees working at the internet access place probably wouldn't notice, then come back 2 days later, take the device and all of the data it logged.
On a similar note, when you take your laptop and use public unsecured wireless access take the same precautions; as someone next to you can be scanning for unsecured computers and data.
