Question about little boys clothing
How do you dress a baby boy? What are the necessities that I need for the first few months in the winter. Obviously when he is home he will be wearing onsies and pjs most of the time, but when we go out and I want him to look cute what kind of outfits are best. Are jeans too uncomfortable when they are so small? DO I need a winter jacket or just a fleece one piece and a bundle me when we go out in the cold? What about sweaters??? RIght now he is one month so in the cold winter months he will be between 3-6 months. How many of each type of clothing do I need? Thanks

Re: Question about little boys clothing
I would pass on the jeans - I don't think they are very comfy for newborns and they are PITA for diaper changes anyway.
I didn't get DS a winter jacket - I used the bundle me and a super warm hat. If they are wearing warm clothes, that's all they need. Those bundle mes get super warm.
Honestly - I think one piece outfits, especially at that age are the easiest. Like these:
They have tons of these at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. DS wore these all winter long.

Re: Question about little boys clothing
With both my boys the best clothes were one-pieces...they sell polo type shirts with the pants attached at bottomm
carters for pjs and comfy clothes
jeans are very restricting unless you buy the ones with soft material inside from the gap

Re: Question about little boys clothing
DS was born in December. He didn't wear a jacket during the winter. I used the Kiddopotamus Posh Pouch and just put a hat on him. He really didn't need a blanket underneath b/c the Posh Pouch was really warm.
As a newborn, I used the footed outfits a lot. They're so easy especially b/c a newborn constantly needs diaper changes. Once he was in 3-6 month clothing, I started to buy more 2 piece outfits. I still had several one piece outfits though. The sweat outfits are easier and more comfortable than jeans, but I had 2 pairs of jeans and denim overalls.

see, now I HATE these! I hate the snaps!
DS has been wearing onesies and pants - either knit pants or pull on jeans from Kohls (jumping beans brand), with either a hoodie or a cardigan over it. With socks and shoes. He actually likes shoes!
I always get compliments on his outfits!

Re: Question about little boys clothing
the best outfits I had were from carters, they were a 2 pc outfit, w/ fleece pants and a fleece zip up hooded jacket. he wore these outfits the enitire winter w/ a long sleep onecsie and light sweater under the jacket. jeans do not really keep a baby as warm as fleece does.

I like the 1 piece rompers too. Kohls has nice ones and also the Circo brand at Target.

We only use these one piece ones too. DS doesn't like wearing pants with waists (or socks, or shoes!). I have some zip up fleeces I put on top of the onesies when it's cold inside, and I do have a winter jacket for him, but we dont use it in the car seat so we don't use it often. We didn't get a bundle me b/c DS is almost 4 months but already 28 inches so 1 inch short of being out of his carseat.

Re: Question about little boys clothing
DS was a winter baby. He lived in one piece outfits. I loved velour ones because they were warm and cozy. I didn't put a jacket on him. If we went out I would put him in a one piece outfit, hooded sweater and hat and put him in the infant seat with the bundle me. If it was freezing I would stick a blanket under the bundle me. HTH.

Re: Question about little boys clothing
On weekends, I did dress Jake in jeans, khakis, etc. I found tons of cute long sleeve graphic onesie Ts at Old Navy and even Carters. I would pair up a l/s onesie with a pair of pants and a cute pair of Robeez or sneakers.
To go out, I would wrap a blanket around him, put a hat on him, and use the bundle me to put around his car seat.
