question about LOW blood sugar
So one day at work, my BP dropped and I started shaking and really just calmly sat in my chair and ate some candy. My dr. appt. that month happened to be 2 days later, so I waited to ask about it. My dr. said my blood sugar had dropped and that I did the right thing eating the candy. Then I was put on the grazing diet [where I eat constantly].
well, on weekends, it's harder to do. for one, DH is trying hard to lose weight and it's not easy for him and i get busy and don't snack/eat like i should...i eat 3 meals instead of 6-8 mini meals and don't snack.
yesterday i fell asleep waiting for DH to get ready to go to my ILs for Easter...when I woke up I was burning up and sweating profusely. then I started shaking...I knew what was happening, but it spooked DH. I had him fetch me a bowl of pineapples and then I attacked DD's easter basket. [sorry kid!]
Here's my question....
Anyone have this happen and NOT have GD? When I try to look up info on it, it's all related to GD or regular diabetes. I just had my glucose test and in reality extremely low risk to have GD so I am just curious as to why I am having such problems with it. [granted, i'm not in the clear, i don't have the results back]

Re: question about LOW blood sugar
Hypoglycemia is not the same as GD. If it were GD eating the sugar would have made you worse.
I also have to eat smaller meals constantly & I keep things like grapes & apples handy for me to snack on in between meals. Instead of snacking (if you cannot on weekends) try to make sure you drink fruit/vegetable juices or soy milk that has a higher nutritional value.

Re: question about LOW blood sugar
I have hypoglycemia tendencies myself. I can't go for HOURS without eating or I feel weaker.
This is not related to GD or diabetes.

Re: question about LOW blood sugar
So I'm not alone! A relief! I know it's not necessarily related to GD...but I couldn't find any info that wasn't! Google failed me.
At work I keep all sorts of snacks handy and eat them [some healthier than others]...it just gets hard on the weekends...guess it caught up to me!
Thanks ladies...I feel better now!

Re: question about LOW blood sugar
I have Hypoglycemia.....Also if you start to feel that way, JUICE is a lifesaver, OJ especially, the sugar is faster acting then sugar in candy.
Low blood sugar is the Exact opposite of GD.
