Question about missing money from your paycheck...
If your job has ever accidentally underpaid you for your paycheck, how long does it take for you to get that money from them? For me, I would get a check the next day, but this just happened to JT today with his paycheck, they underpaid him A LOT by accident and they're telling him he has to wait a month. A MONTH! I'm really annoyed. Just wondering if this is standard.

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
this happened to me - I got a new job in the same company - and they typed in my salary wrong buy $20K
my boss said he could get me a check in a few days, but I was was fine waiting until next payday (two weeks), which I got the right pay + the additional they owed me from the last paycheck.
they should be able to offer him a check ASAP since it was their error

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
Our PR is done weekly. If someone got a messed up check we normally correct it the next PR unless it was a huge error then we do it when they come to us.

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
Well, his next paycheck will be in two weeks, I don't understand why they won't pay him even then? For such a HUGE company, they have the crappiest PR people. They're always screwing up his paychecks. Normally, it's just his overtime, this time, it was his actual pay.

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
my check has never been messed up
but Jake's has- and the owner normally cuts him a check the next day or he waits to the next pay period- which is 2 weeks

Unless it's really fouled up, then he makes us wait till the next pay period (2 weeks for us). SO annoying.

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
When it's happened to me, it's been a company-wide error. They were always willing to cut a check for the difference immediately, but it was a huge firm. Smaller companies may take longer.

No, he works for a MAJOR corporation. You'd think they'd get it right at least three months in a row.

Re: Question about missing money from your paycheck...
Payroll can cut him a manual check. They just don't like to do it. I would speak to HR and have them speak to payroll...same thing I do all day long LOL

This is true...it was their fault. They're not losing any money by doing it, they're just handing it over quicker than they'd like.

I agree.
We have the same problem too. Someone else in the field screws up & Payroll doesn't want to do the manual adjustment. I'm sure if it was their paycheck they'd feel differently.
I'm in HR. I would never make someone wait for their wages more than a day or 2 after a pay period. One month is unacceptable. If it were commission, that's different.

they suck Rachel. They actually BOUNCED one of my checks a few years ago and it took the THREE weeks to give me the money and another 3 to cover the extra charges I had from overdraft fees...I was an LA employee at the time.
tell him to be a pain in the *** to HR and payroll, they move much faster when people get short and annoying with them...there is no reason it can't be fixed by next pay period, that's in TWO weeks!
