Question about naps
DS will be 8 weeks tomorrow and the only way I can get him to take a a 2-3 hour nap is if he sleeps on me. If I put him down he either wakes up or will only sleep for the most half hour and it doesn't matter where I lay him I have tried the pack & play, bouncy, swing, bassinet and crib. That nap each day is also the only one he takes so he is up for most of the day and then he gets be bedtime bottle between 9:30 & 10 and will sleep until 5/6. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to sleep in their. He isn't on any type of schedule except that he eats every 2-3 hours. Also will the their be a point where he will want to nap more durning the day? And do you think if I just keep putting him down each time he falls asleep he will get the hit and maybe stay in their longer? He doesn't like to be swaddled and does get startled very easly and then will wake himself up sometimes. When he is awake durning the day he isnt fussy or show signs of being tired.

Re: Question about naps
My daughter is 3 months and she does the same thing.. She hasto fall asleep in our arms or laps. Do you have a boppy.. she likes to sleep in thre too I think because she feels cuddled.. We have tried to get her on a schedule but she does what she wants still.. she also hardly naps during the day but every day is different..

Re: Question about naps
I am with you on this one...Noah will only nap in my arms and if *god forbid* I move...well thats it, naptime is over and we have missed our slot. He is already 5 months and is a total nightmare! I never get a break during the day because he always wants to be held!!!
Unfortunately I don't know the answer, but the only thing that gets me through it is thinking to myself...well I don't know any 18 year olds who only fall asleep on their mothers shoulders. So I should be okay in about 18 years....its exhausting to hold a sleeping baby and try not to move. If we are lucky we get a 45 minute nap maybe 3 times a day (sort of 8/9 am, lunchtime and maybe 4 pmish...)
I need help too. SLEEP FAIRY, save me!!!
