Question about night feeding.
Logan has been consistantly sleeping through the night for over a week.
Down at 9, up at 7.
Last night he woke up at 2 and wanted to eat, then he woke up at 6 again.
I fed him both times, but now I'm thinking I shouldn't have since he can obviously go the whole night without eating.
Did I do the right thing, or have I taken a giant step backwards?
He's 11 weeks.

Re: Question about night feeding.
He is so young and still has big growth spurts, so I'd keep on feeding him.

Re: Question about night feeding.
Feed him, he's likely awake b/c he's hungry and dirty.

Re: Question about night feeding.
I would have feed them. In all the books it says dont count on them sleeping in the same patterns for too long until at least 4 months old. That you should expect a few nights like you described above. I dont think that he will "remember" that last night he ate in the middle of the night and will probably go back to how he was sleeping tonight if not within a day or two....
Noah is younger -7 weeks but he will sleep 7 hours staright for a week in a row and then a night or two of 5 hours and then back to 7 hours...

Re: Question about night feeding.
yes do feed him...it is probably a growth spurt, maybe increase the amount of formula during the day.

Re: Question about night feeding.
As Diane said, try feeding heim a little more during the day, it may be a growth sprut and he may need the extra calories- hopefully it'll pass!

Re: Question about night feeding.
Emma is 4 months and woke last week at 4 am, wanting to eat. It was only the second time this has happened since she started sleeping through the night. I fed her, in part because she hadn't taken a lot at the last feeding, and because my ped told us to feed on demand.

Re: Question about night feeding.
Sometimes they just want to suck on something to be soothed as well. So if you are using a paci, just pop it in. I know Emma sometimes wakes up squirming and that's what she needs and goes right back to sleep.

I agree - when they have a growth spurt they want to eat more.
