Question about Nunley's Carousel Party...
Has anyone been to one when it was open to the public? How was it? DD has been begging for a carousel party and I totally dropped the ball booking the date even though her birthday is still within enough time this place is booked for private parties through march now! They do still have parties available when they are open to the public but, I wasn't sure if it was worth it to do this? TIA if you have been to one and can offer info.
Also, if not, pls recc a great place! For a 3 yr old bday party

Re: Question about Nunley's Carousel Party...
We went to a 5 yr old party last December. It was only a 90 min party. Eh I have mixed feelings. Nice party had a great time. Compared to a private event I liked the private better. It was a weekday party. When people come they ride with the people at the party. So they come around and collected tickets from those who rode more than once which did take more time between rides than with a private party. You will have non guests riding with the kids and walking around if that matters to you. It may or may not be crowded depending on the day and time you have the party. I would pick a time that is normally quiet if you decide to have a non private party. I know a few moms who wanted to chat while their kids rode -mentioned that they didn't like that there were non party people coming and going so some felt they had to ride with their child rather than watching from the side. The party I was at maybe had 10-15 people come in the 90 mins we were there. I would ask if you have a lot of kids if party children get ride preference over non party guests. I would hate to have a party and guests standing on the side waiting to ride. If say you have 40 horses and 35 guests but 10 non guests will you have 5 kids sitting and waiting their turn.

The girls' party was at hot shots west this past year. All the 3 year olds loved it. The birthday child gets to fly like tinkerbell.

Re: Question about Nunley's Carousel Party...
We are doing DD's 3rd bday at Le Play Cafe in Bellmore. Parties are private and they are very reasonable.

Re: Question about Nunley's Carousel Party...
Honestly, I have been to one and I did NOT like that it was open to the public. I don't think you will either. The biggest issue was that the front doors were wide open, so it was VERY hard for parents of more than one child to keep an eye on both kids at the same time. Plus when your DC runs around, behind the carousel, you can't see them. Then add in strangers there, front doors unlocked, or wide open in our case, and it was very frustrating for some parents of rambunctious children to manage. I would personally never do it.

They always have the gate up in nice weather for parties, even private ones, or the door open in the winter ones. The parties we went to the kids were not running around behind the carousel in the back at all except for the outside activity, they had them constantly occuppied. The only difference in set up and party layout etc from the ones we were at were the strangers/non guests coming in. But I completely agree that I am not a fan of the non private parties. I guess it is more like going to someplace like chucke cheese where you are get with everyone.
