Question about REA

If you hire one to look to buy a house, do you pay them out of pocket?
Is that included in closing fees? Or do they get paid by the seller?

Re: Question about REA

A check is issued from the closing costs of the seller at closing. You have plenty of yourt own costs to worry about.

that is right - unless if you hire a buyers broker - then you pay them.

but if you are getting a regular REA - the selelrs pay them - but it also means they act in the best interest of the sellers, not you.

Yep, you can hire a REA as a buyer's agent, meaning he/she will work for you, look out for you, negotiate for you, give you advice in your best interest. If you do this, you will pay a comission to the REA as part of closing costs.

If you go the way most people do, you can ask a REA to help you with your search. He/she will research homes for you, make appointments, and show you homes. But since they will technically be working for the seller they cannot give you any advice, negotiate for you, etc. The seller will pay this REA - the comission with be split with the listing agent.
