Repost..l. maybe more traffic here... OIL BURNER CIRCULATION QUESTION.....

Oil burner dilema and venting /circulation...

As many of you know last Saturday night was a disaster. My burner was on fire inside and we had a puff back,Carbon monxide at 300 plus, and a lot of soot damage to the boiler room, we are all okay, as well as our animals, I was mortified having the fire dept ripping thru my house , it looks like part of it was trashed, the screen was ripped in my basement and they blew 2 circuits and an outlet, the electrician just came here this afternoon to fix that, they even kicked in my basement door, but we are all okay and that is what matters.... I have not had too much sleep all week, on top of trying to redo my house from when my parents passed away, and I am very derpessed from the whole situation.... to make a long story short no one ever told us it was not working well enough and we needed a new burner and oil tank... $8,000 later- we have the new burner and they are putting in the new tank next week. I was told to keep a window open becuase the new burners like circulation.....So we have had the basement window open for a week now. What can I do to circulate the air down in the boiler room , I am so paranoid of keeping windows open when I am not home... Right now I have metal sheets blocking the other side of the window so it cannot be opened is that good enough???? and some very good wood to keep it open and I put the glass part of the wondow open to try to keep it propped open, any other suggestions... I called the oil company and they are gong to take a look at it next week to give me suggestions, I really do not want to have to put on metal bars on a window in my basement....
Help? any suggestions?
