Re: Question about savings accounts/moneymarket..

We have a money market with North Fork Bank.

Minimum: $25,000
Interest Rate: 4.5%*

*bank rate - not sure if they are still offering this. $25,000 is the min to get whatever the higher interest rate is for this program.

We have HSBC.com at 5.05%. No minimum and you can get an ATM card if you want quick and easy access to your money.

INGdirect.com is 4.35% (I think or maybe it's at 4.5% now?) No minimum but it takes a couple of days to transfer money to your checking account.

ETA: ING is 4.5%

Re: Question about savings accounts/moneymarket..

We have a Citibank Ultimate Money Account which earns 5% APY..you do have to link the account to a checking account and do online bill pay. I do that anyway so it works for us.
