Question about SkinnyTaste

For those of you who have tried her recipes, do they taste low-fat??

I've found a TON of great recipes on her blog and I'm so excited to try them, but BF is kind of picky and I'm not sure that he'd love them if they taste like they're low fat...KWIM? Generally when I think of low fat meals I think of bland, not much flavor, boring, just kind of missing something.

How are these?

Ooo this is good to hear! I'm excited to try her recipes out. I think I'm going to pass her blog on to my BF's mom and sister - they're both health nuts and only eat low-fat. They would LOVE it.

Thanks to whoever originally posted it - great find!

I've tried the taco dip and the creamy Parmesan spinach dip. Neither of them taste low fat at all!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon this had me cracking up. I used to be like that too. If I knew something was low fat I wouldnt eat it just because it was low fat. It could taste delicious but I still wouldnt eat it. I've moved past that now, but BF isnt too fond of lowfat food usually.

I'm so glad to hear the taste isnt compromised!

I easily have made over 25 recipes and only had one that came out not good...but it might have been my fault. we eat her recipes at least 2 a week.

Re: Question about SkinnyTaste

I made her turkey burger with zucchini... They were amazing and did not taste low fat at all! I am not a fan of burger when we make them at home generally but both DH and I gobbled them up!

Re: Question about SkinnyTaste

I love her recipes. One of her parents is Colombian I believe so she has a lot of typical latin dishes that are packed with flavor. They are comfort foods that I grew up with but never knew how to make plus they're low fat. She has a ton of other dishes that I've tried and have been really great.

Re: Question about SkinnyTaste

They don't taste low fat at all! I love her recipes. They are healthy and taste good. I don't know how she does it. I think maybe because she uses not a lot of ingredients and it's simple and good.

Some favourites:
Asian turkey meatballs
Greek turkey meatballs
Turkey cutlets with parm crust
Italian turkey meatballs
Dijon lime chicken
Zucchini pancakes

Re: Question about SkinnyTaste

they are great...i made a full week of her recipes last week and my bf loved all of them. i do cheat somewhat and add more ingredients/spices/etc and use full fat cheese or whatever at times, but she has great recipes to build off of and make them your own...just play around..you will not be disappointed.

chicken divan lightened..amazing
stuffed chicken with broccoli and swiss..awesome
orchiette with chicken sausage and broccoli rabe....great.

i just use them as base recipes and modify them, still low fat, but i add some extras to suit our tastes..
