question about the whole process
forgive me if i sound stupid. this week will be the first time trying IUI. i will be going for monitoring starting on tuesday & if all goes well hopefully IUI towards the end of the week.
my question is what happens after IUI? is it just basically a waiting game to see if it was a success or not ? are there any appointments afterwards? unless to see if i'm pregnant?
Next month is our annivesary & trying to plan a long weekened getaway. in my head trying to figure out if it will interfere with the monitoring, insemination etc.
this is soo stressful as it is, we may have to skip IUI this cycle if it falls this friday. DH has to go school to renew a license for his job & its mandatory. it will take all day & he can't re-schedule but we'll see

Re: question about the whole process
You do NOT sound stupid!!! We all had the same questions when we first started out!
I had my first IUI this cycle, and I don't have to go back to my RE until 3/25 for a pregnancy test. Last cycle, they had me in at CD21 to test my progesterone, so they might have you in for that.
HTH!!! Good Luck!!

You do not sound stupid at all. When I had my first IUI they gave me an appt. for 14 days later to come in for a pregnancy test.

Re: question about the whole process
Some doctors give progesterone suppositories. Some do not. It can be an awful waiting game. Good luck.

Re: question about the whole process
After your IUI is performed, the doctor may ask to see you in a week to check your progesterone levels. You will also go in 2 weeks after your IUI for a blood test to check your beta levels for pregnancy.
Good Luck!
