Question about Tutor Time in Smithtown

I am asking about the one on Rte 347, near the Watermill. It is listed on the Tutor Time website and I called them a few months ago but I can't find them on that NYS website that lists license and violations for day care centers. I checked a few different ways, too. Isn't each location listed separately on the NYS website? How can I find out if this place has violations?

EDITED: I think I found it listed as
TTIMEON, INC. They were given a violation in June of 2007. Almost all the places I have looked at have some sort of violation. It seems to come down to which one has violations that are not major.

Does anyone here use them or another day care in the area? My search has not been easy.

My daughters best friends mom works there...Remind me and I'll ask her. She works with the older kids and drives the bus for them (before and after school care) and does the summer camp.

Oh, just enter my thread, why don't ya? Actually, I was just on your thread and I was going to post Dylan as a potential lover for Michael again b/c I made a joke about it last week.

Tonight I am stressing the day care thing. If I find a place that has one thing I like, it is missing something that I found at a different place. Also, some places charge almost a full time rate for part time care and some truly pro-rate the cost. So much to consider. Anyone reading this, please help with my search!!!!!!

Kerie I would love to help you, but the prospect is so overwhelming to me that I can't even get started for myself. My supervisor told me today to find daycare for whatever I need b/c I can't work from home OR bring baby to work. I haven't even had the courage to tell DH this. Chat Icon

UUGGGGGHHHH--And do you have to go in 5 days a week? Maybe some places I am checking out could work for you. If I don't get in touch with you soon, light a fire under my butt b/c I'd love to catch up.

Re: Question about Tutor Time in Smithtown

I'll tell you the little that I know, it use to be owned by the family that owns the e northport and commack locations. The name is escaping me now, but when I was looking they had a decent reputation. I understand it was sold a few years ago and I'm not sure what the current situation is.

My oldest, who is 10, attended the TT on Landing Ave. I was generally pleased there, she was there from ages 18 months-4. Unfortunately, they too were sold a few years ago which, is why I never considered them for my youngest. I understand the EEOC owns that location, and am completely unsure what that's about.

What I can tell you as a veteran of the daycare wars, also only part time, is that the most important thing to me, once I resolved the violations issue (and your right they all have them), is continuity. In my experience a lot of franchised facilities have ridiculous amounts of turn over, so any time I would visit a place my first question was always, "how long have you worked here?"

ETA: Have you tried BEST. I know people who used them when they were in KP and they were happy.

Good Luck!!

No, I don't have to go in 5 days, I can make it work with 4, but I only have someone to watch her 2 days.
