question about vaccine schedule
i have the printed schedule from my ped and it says that DS will get 2 vaccines at 6 weeks (HIB and polio), 2 at 8 weeks (DTAP and PREVNAR) plus the oral rotovirus vac., and another 3 at 12 weeks (HIB, the 2nd round of Hep B, and the second round of polio).
i really want to stick to the schedule because of the field my DH works in (he is exposed to people from all over the world and often is in close contact with them) but that just seems like so many shots in a 6 weeks span... does this seem normal?

Re: question about vaccine schedule
We had basically the same schedule with the exception of the oral rotovirus. I had them split the 12 week one because I didn't want her to get 3 shots at once - the most I want to give her is 2. Dr. said my insurance may not cover the extra visit, but it would just be a $50 fee if they didn't. He gave the extra shot (polio) 2 weeks later (so at 14 weeks)

Re: question about vaccine schedule
I have always followed my pediatricians schedule when it comes to vaccinations. I trust that they know what they are doing.
That said, if you are concerned that its too many at once, then TELL them that you want them to space them out more. You do not have to go along with their schedule.
