Feeding Schedule Question...
Ok so how does this exactly work? I've been waking him every 2-3 hours. So now what happens if say the last feeding was at 2 and if the next feeding is scheduled for 5 and he falls asleep around 4:30, do I let him sleep more or still wake him for that 5 pm feeding?
DH says let him sleep so at least he'll get 2 hours of sleep and wake him up at 6:30 that's 4 1/2 hours since his last meal.
Isn't it true that the next feeding should start 2-3 since the beginning of the last one?

Re: Feeding Schedule Question...
Alex ate every 3 hours or so in the beginning. At night he would go up to 5 hours. I ebf. I wouldn't wake him between feedings. I don't believe you should ever wake a sleeping baby. They will let you know when they are hungry.

Re: Feeding Schedule Question...
The 2nd day my son was home he slept 8 hrs I always thought "don't wake a sleeping baby" so I let him sleep. But when I told the ped he told me not to let him sleep more than 4 hrs for formula and not more than 2 hrs for breast milk. His reasoning was if you let him sleep 8 hrs, he's missing out on a feeding and therefore a chance to get calories. I never woke him up at night though. During the day I used to let him sleep 3hrs max in b/w breast feedings. This was only for the first couple of weeks though since the ped said he wanted to see him back to his birth weight by 3 weeks.
