Question about what DS should wear for his 1st bday party
I've noticed a lot of pics of babies with a "1" shirt or a shirt that matches the party theme.
I'm debating if I should do something like that (with jeans and shoes) for DS or if I should get him a cute outfit for his party.
The theme is Yo Gabba Gabba. Not sure what would look nicer. We're also not very "dress down" people, so I like to dress up a bit for special events, which is why I'm having a hard time deciding. I want him to look SPECIAL for his birthday (the party is on his actual birthday), not like a guest, KWIM?

i totally know what you mean.. and i was debating the same thing..
but i decided i am buying them a t shirt on etsy with a 1 and their name on it.
and in the number one it has mickey mouse (the theme)
i just think it will look really cute for the pictures.
but part of me still wants them to wear somethng nice. unless i get a button down shirt and then at some point just take that off?! idk .. haha

i got a birthday boy onesie at Carters...but he wore a nice sweater and corduroy khaki pants for most of the party...I think I took the sweater off during cake time so he had a few pics with the birthday onesie!

I wouldn't over think it.. Especially thinking you may change him... odds are you will be too buys to change him into something else.. John had a football themed party and he had tons of football shirts in his closet and jeans.

But I think Linda is right - what if we don't have time to change him etc? And I don't want to pay for a special #1 shirt just for cake. IDK!

especially if you are having lots of people..the day goes too quick and you're too busy to think about chaning his diaper let alone his shirt.

durr! do what katie did  you put the shirt under his snazzy outfit, then when it's cake time all you have to do is remove a layer. tada! and it's not like he'll get overheated, it'll still be layer weather in march

my dds will wear nice fancy outfits, i know they are one everyone else knows they are one and in pictures we will know they were one, i don't really see the need for their clothes to state they are one, i'm not a fan of them
they have very cute party bibs to wear for cake time that were given to them for their christening party
