Question for all of the photographers
So we are in Montauk right now at my parents house for a few days. DH is going to be doing a lot of fishing and I figured I'd try to take Christopher's Christmas card picture on the beach (well, figured after someone very smart told me I should!)
I brought out his outfit, but I don't have shoes yet, just his sneakers (which do match and are dark colored) and my mom said they have a fake wreath out here from one of my dad's sandcastle Christmas cards...
So finally, here is the question, what should I go for here? I have a beach, a kid and possibly a wreath....GO

Re: Question for all of the photographers
I am def. not a photographer but I can tell you this - no matter how much you plan it - it will never work out perfectly. C3 is so photogenic - just snap away when you see the special moments. The beach will look amazing!! Him running - and you just have to keep up and get the one perfect shot!
I don't know if you saw the pics I posted today of Jack - but he was in his puffy coat and pajama pants -- but he was having the best time I thought I would try and make it work for the card - and I think it kind of did!

Re: Question for all of the photographers
Insert child in wreath on the beach.
Have him hold up the wreath - or have someone else hold it up but crop them out.
Or build a kickarse sand castle, put the wreath on the sandcastle & have him with a shovel sitting next to it.

Ooo, I like the first idea...
The second I would do, except my dad is professional sandcastle builder in his spare time and I couldn't do one of his, so I think it would look subpar

Re: Question for all of the photographers
Well, since children have a mind of their own I'd opt to skip the wreath
I would just let him play and take a bunch of photos. Try to get one full length shot, one of him maybe sitting and then a super closeup of his face this way you have a nice variety of poses and orientations to choose from.

Re: Question for all of the photographers
How a snowman sandcastle? Complete with a carrot for a nose only use shells too....
Write Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays in the sand and take pic with C3 sitting next to it? With the wreathe on one side? Or in the center?
Any of those fences around? What are they called drift fences or something? Hang the wreathe on that and take Christophers pic in front of the fence...
