Question for August/September mommies..
How does your baby go to sleep at night? Megan will not fall asleep in her bassinet anymore. She falls asleep in her bouncy chair and then I have to put her in her bassinet when shes fully out. Can you just put your 2 month old in their crib/bassinet, and they fall asleep on their own?

Michael does the same thing. He usually falls asleep for the night at around 9 in his bouncy seat while he is watching TV and then when I am ready for bed, I pick him and but him in his bassinet and then he sleeps the night and gets up anywhere between 6 - 7 in the morning.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
I usually give DD her last bottle while swaddled and she passes right out in mine or DH arms. We then put her in the bassinet. We however are not as lucky as Lisa. DD wakes up at about 4am. I tried putting her down awake last night at it was not happening. She fussed for over an hour until I picked her up.

We give Jiavana her bottle, she eats and falls asleep. Then DH will put her in her crib. If she wakes up usually she fusses and falls back to sleep.

Lisa...what time do you put DS to bed? How old is he now that you are lucky that he is sleeping through the night?
DD still has days/nights mixed up...all day she sleeps and then she wants to be up all night. But...she will sleep wherever we put her...and she will also lay down awake and fall asleep on her own.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
My daugher will be 5 weeks this week and she usually falls asleep while finishing/burping of the bottle..sometimes we put her in the crib and she wakes up and goes back to sleep herself other times we have to rock her...or get her to fall asleep again! She is still getting up during the night...!! We are so ready for her to go longer then 4-5 hours during the night!

Kim, DS was like in the beginning but like I said about 3 weeks ago (he is 9 weeks old now) he started sleeping through the night. After the babysitter comes to pick him up, she said that he usually falls back to sleep until about 9:30.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
my son falls asleep in his swing when not screaming at about 7-8 and will basically onlge get up to eat from then until 8am next day. i put him in the crib at about 10 after his "dream feed". he typically is screaming up unitl that point with his allergy/reflux issues. oha n dhe is 8 weeks.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
We have a bedtime routine that we follow every night (time is flexible) but between 8:30-9:30 she gets her bath, bottle, swaddle, bed. I time it so her last feed is somewhere between 9-10pm. She goes in her crib and we have never had a problem. It's funny because I can not get her to nap in her crib, but bedtime is pretty easy. She naps in her swing all day.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
Am I the only one whose baby is waking up for feedings during the night? I'm so jealous of those of you whose babies are sleeping through the night already! I kept telling myself he was too young! Guess not!!

No, you're not the only one. Molly is 2 months now and still gets up for feedings during the night...usually around 1 and 4:30. She's little so maybe that has something to do with it. Someone told me it should get better after she's over 12lbs.

How does your baby go to sleep at night? Megan will not fall asleep in her bassinet anymore. She falls asleep in her bouncy chair and then I have to put her in her bassinet when shes fully out. Can you just put your 2 month old in their crib/bassinet, and they fall asleep on their own?
My Liam never falls asleep in his bassinet, never has. For naps he would sleep in his infant carrier. Now it's in our arms or in his bouncy seat. He never will stay asleep if I put him in the bassinet for naps after he falls asleep in our arms or the bouncy. If we are out with him he'll fall asleep in the carrier; I'll keep him in it if we come home and he's still sleeping.
At night he falls asleep in our arms and we put him in the bassinet. He's fine at night. It's weird. I never thought he would have a preference or "know" when he is put in the bassinet for naps.
I do want to wean him off of falling asleep in our arms in the next month to 6 weeks. I want to do the Ferber method with him for nighttime. I'm very nervous for him about napping at the daycare since I think they will just put him in a crib for naps and he never has done that before. We'll see how it goes once he starts.
I don't know if a 2 mo old will fall asleep on their own, I've actually never tried! I figure they're too young to know how to do that, and I just love cuddling with Liam at night for nighttime sleep.

Re: Question for August/September mommies..
My son does this too, sleeps fine in his crib at night, but not for naps. When I put him down for a nap he'll coo or fuss in there the entire nap time until I ocme to get him, which means he misses his nap and then gets super overtired. I quit trying and now just put him in the swing, which worked well for a while. But with his reflux he is not napping anywhere these days. I think he only sleeps in the crib at night from being so tired/crying all day. If I feed him at 10 he would go til 3am before waking to eat, then down again til 7. Last night I got lucky he went 6.5 hours before waking, but I dno't know if that will stick oh and he's 2 months, 13.5 lbs
