Question for computer/photo editing savvy people...
Can anyone tell me how I can blur out the background in a picture ??? I have a pic that was taken in a restaurant and I was hoping to somehow make the background hazy or something ...Is there some kind of free program online or do you think my computer may have come installed with something that would do this ??
P.S- I am somewhat computer challenged...can you tell ??
Thanks

GIMP is 100% free, and does tons of high-end photo editing tasks (as well as the simple ones). I've been using it for years. You can easily blur parts of a photo with that tool.

Gimp is awesome Bops, but if you are working with your own photo software, try the "spotlight" feature which most editing sw has as an option. It'll darken the edges of the photo and highlight a circle or oval in the center of the pic, I've found it very useful (and simple!) for changing the whole feel of some pix. What s/w are you using?

My laptop is fairly new and it is a Vista operating sysytem...I was trying to see if it came with any photo editing installed already and I'm not seeing anything except for Gallery which I'm only seeing the basics ( cropping, saturation etc...) ...I just intsalled GIMP, and am trying to figure out how to get a picture up ( I wasnt kidding about the coputer challenged thing- LOL!)...I will keep searching and see if I can find anything on my computer that allows me the spotlight feature, that would definately do the trick also...Thanks for replying !!! If you can think of anything else - I'd love to hear...I reallly want to learn this !
