Question for girls who use StonyBrook OB/GYN. Setauket office
I'm planning on switching doctors and pretty sure that I may use this practice. I was just wondering if they do all your sono's and blood work at the office. Also who is everyones favorite doctor? I hear good things about O'Keefe and Porte.

They do not do blood in the office. They do sonos in the office, except the NT scan. That they send you to University Ob/Gyn for. However, the did just get a brand new state of the art US machine in the office, so maybe that will change. LOVE O'Keefe, Porte and Lochner!!

O'Keefe is my dr. and I LOVE him!!! Cant say enough. He talked about the new machine they were getting and said they will even flip on 3D for us sometimes

Dr. Porte is my main Dr. and love him. I also really like Dr. O'Keefe. Either one will be doing my c/s in Oct. depending on the date.

Who are you switching from?
I switched to Suffolk OBGYN in the beginning of this pregnancy and was not happy at all!
I am back to my old doctors Halpert & Sommers at Personal Womens Care (across from Watermill) and they deliver at St. Catherine's which is close for you. I am much happier there.

Thanks everyone! It's seems most of you really like these doctors.
One more question, where do they send you for blood work? I'm so used to getting blood work and sonos done in the office. It was so much easier.

Whichever lab your insurance is affiliated with.
