Question for Jewish Girls
With Passover coming up was wondering if you're going to stick to matzo all week? I usually can't have it for an entire week... maybe the first few days then I just try to avoid bread. Figured with the pregnancy matzo wouldn't be the best on my stomach. Although I do love matzo ball soup!
Oh, can we have gefilte fish? It's probably high in mercury. I really don't care for it unless there's a lot of horseradish anyway.
TIA!

Yes I will be living on Matzah. I eat gefilte fish every friday night. It's made of Whitefish and Pike, they aren't big Mercury carriers.

Yes I will be eating Matzoh - good point about the fish but I was glad to hear that it is not high in mercury :)

I'm a bad jew too. I never follow the rules. I think up to last year I thought we eat Challah on Passover.

Re: Question for Jewish Girls
I haven't kept passover in a few years but feel like I should try now that I'm having a baby for some reason. I'll probably try and see how it goes...

Love Challah! So good with matzo ball soup, but I think my IL's wouldn't appreciate that. LOL

Don't even worry about it. It's like Hannukah. There are about 50 ways to spell it and none of them are wrong.

Re: Question for Jewish Girls
I was pregnant last year during Passover. I kept Passover. I didn't each much matzo, but had plenty of matzo ball soup.

Re: Question for Jewish Girls
I am pretty hardcore about keeping Passover and I am very nervous about it b/c the things to eat are so limited (and, lets face it, not always very good). I have a tough time every year without being pregnant, not looking forward to it this year.

Re: Question for Jewish Girls
My obgyn specifically told me not to keep passover this year. He said that since I had such a hard pg last time that I should not restrict my diet for the holiday.

Re: Question for Jewish Girls
I'm going to try to keep passover. . . I know it's weird, but I love passover food (although I definitely get sick of it by the end). My usuals are Matzah Bri for breakfast (love it!), matzah pizza for lunch and potato kugel, matzah ball soup and some veggies for dinner.
It'll be hard this year b/c we're going out of state with DH to visit his family for Easter. I'm gonna try though!

I LOVE Matzo Bri... always with some strawberry jam. I can't wait for that!

Seriously, I even order it the diner throughout the year. But it's never as good as when it's homemade!
